The Historic Center is ideal for visitors who want to grasp the founding history of Mexico on a walkable route that connects the Palacio de Bellas Artes, the Zócalo, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Templo Mayor. It is the area where three cities overlap —pre-Hispanic, colonial and modern— and where a local guide can translate five centuries of history as you walk through plazas, convents and buildings listed as UNESCO World Heritage.
First-time visitors to CDMX, international couples and families with an interest in history, colonial architecture and 20th-century Mexican art.
